Hi! Hello! Welcome!

Grab a cup of tea and I’ll tell you my story.

It all started when...

I’ve been a staffer for U.S. Senators, a teacher of journalism, a public lands journalist, a wildlife advocate, a Wilderness advocate, a campaign manager, a gluten-free life coach (not making that up), and currently an online business owner who works out of her home while spending every spare minute writing, filming, playing outside, and planning her next adventure with her husband.

Where I live …

I currently live in the small town in northern Montana where I grew up. We’re about an hour from Glacier National Park, about 30 miles from the nearest fast food, and about 90 miles from a major shopping center.

In other words, it’s remote, and there is a part of me that loves that and a part of me that doesn’t.

Hence, the urge to travel and explore the world both near and far.

I will say that what we have in Montana in terms of a community is rare. There is lots of peace and quiet, you can hear the birds sing, people are kind, and genuinely grateful for any help you give to building the community and getting through winter together. I will miss everyone.

What this website is about …

Let’s face it. I needed a place to just BE. You know what I mean?

This started because of a trip to the Shetland Islands with my husband and I wanted to share my travel notes and photos with friends and family. Hence, this blog.

I enjoy writing regularly, so I keep the blog and my website going to help keep me writing, contributing, and sharing my talents. I hope you enjoy it.

What I believe …

  • Simplicity is everything.

  • Joy isn’t found in money or power or things (but it can vastly reduce your stress when there’s more than enough of what you need).

  • Climate change is real, and a threat, and living lightly on the planet is now a necessity, not a luxury.

  • Travel opens the mind to new people and places.

  • Humor is the healing balm to most of life’s tragedies.

  • Women are spiritual equals with men. Full stop.

  • Good food can heal us, bring people together, and change the world for the better.

  • Walking alongside someone is the best way to listen to them, and see life through their eyes.

  • Respect others, and they will respect you.

  • The world is a better place because of our diversity.

  • Telling the truth is the best way to heal.

  • Freedom is sacred.

  • Being optimistic helps.

  • Giving is a practice.

  • Winning is a habit.
